During a routine mission at sea, the young waterbender-in-training Katara and her brother Sokka discover a young boy named Aang who has been frozen in an iceberg. Without the power of spirits, this journey will be a hard one, and the clock is ticking.

Now in the Spirit World, Aang is told by Avatar Roku that the only spirit who would know where to find the moon spirit is Koh, the face stealer, and so Aang must now confront him. Back in the physical world, Zuko successfully kidnaps Aang’s body but must wait out a snow storm before taking him to the Fire Nation. Meanwhile, Zhao, who knows where to find the moon spirit’s physical form, sets out to kill it, hoping it will strip the waterbenders of their waterbending.
